This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains how you can cancel your KulRakshak subscription or service engagement, what happens to your data, and when you may be eligible for a refund. Our goal is simple — fair terms, clear communication, and zero surprises.

1) Introduction & Scope
This Cancellation and Refund Policy ("Policy") governs the cancellation of subscriptions, service engagements, and related refund terms applicable to the services offered by KulRakshak ("we," "our," "us," or "Company") through the website at https://kulrakshak.com (the "Website") and all associated platforms.
This Policy forms an integral part of and should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Subscription Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and other KulRakshak policies, this Cancellation and Refund Policy shall prevail with respect to cancellation and refund matters.
This Policy applies to all forms of paid engagements with KulRakshak, including recurring subscription plans (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual), one-time service engagements (asset recovery, claim assistance, consultation), add-on service purchases, and any other paid feature or product offered through the Website.
By subscribing to or purchasing any KulRakshak service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you have any questions about this Policy before making a purchase, please contact us at info@kulrakshak.com.
2) How to Cancel
KulRakshak offers multiple convenient channels for cancellation. You are never locked in — you can initiate a cancellation at any time through any of the following methods:
📋 Cancellation Methods:
- Self-Service (Recommended): Log in to your KulRakshak account → Navigate to "Account Settings" → Select "Subscription & Billing" → Click "Cancel Subscription" → Confirm your cancellation. You will receive an instant on-screen confirmation followed by a confirmation email within minutes
- Email: Send a cancellation request to info@kulrakshak.com from your registered email address. Use the subject line "Cancellation Request – [Your Registered Name]." Include your registered name, email address, phone number, subscription plan, and reason for cancellation (optional but helpful)
- Phone: Call us at +91 9990184509 during business hours (Monday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST). Our support team will verify your identity, process the cancellation, and confirm via email
- WhatsApp: Send a cancellation request to our official WhatsApp number (if available on the Website). Include your registered name and email for identity verification
- Written Request: Send a signed cancellation letter to KulRakshak, Plot 89, Sector 44, Gurugram, Haryana – 122018, India. This method is recommended for formal records but has a longer processing time
⏱️ Processing Timelines:
- Self-Service: Processed immediately with instant confirmation
- Email: Acknowledged within forty-eight (48) hours; processed within three (3) business days
- Phone: Processed during the call itself; confirmation email within twenty-four (24) hours
- WhatsApp: Acknowledged within twenty-four (24) hours; processed within three (3) business days
- Written Letter: Acknowledged within seven (7) business days of receipt; processed within ten (10) business days
Regardless of the cancellation method, you will always receive a written confirmation via email once your cancellation has been processed. If you do not receive a confirmation within the timelines above, please contact us immediately — your request may not have been received.
3) Cancellation of Subscription Plans
KulRakshak subscription plans can be cancelled at any time without penalties, exit fees, or forced lock-in periods. The specific terms depend on your billing cycle:
Monthly Subscription
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current monthly billing period
- You retain full access to all features and your Digital Vault until the period ends
- No partial refund for unused days within the current month
- No cancellation fee or early termination penalty
- Auto-renewal will be disabled immediately upon cancellation
Quarterly Subscription
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current quarterly billing period
- You retain full access until the quarter ends
- No prorated refund for unused months or days within the current quarter
- No cancellation fee or early termination penalty
- Auto-renewal will be disabled immediately
Semi-Annual Subscription
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current six-month billing period
- Full access continues until the period ends
- No prorated refund for the unused portion
- No cancellation fee or penalty
- Auto-renewal will be disabled immediately
Annual Subscription
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual billing period
- Full access continues for the remainder of the annual term
- No prorated refund for the unused portion of the year
- No cancellation fee or penalty
- Auto-renewal will be disabled immediately
Key Principle: When you cancel a subscription, you are cancelling the next renewal. Your current paid period runs in full — you never lose access before the time you've already paid for.

4) Cancellation of One-Time Service Engagements
In addition to subscription plans, KulRakshak offers one-time or project-based service engagements such as asset recovery assistance, claim filing support, nominee alignment consultations, legacy planning sessions, and document preparation services. The following cancellation terms apply to these engagements:
📌 Cancellation Terms by Service Stage:
- Before Work Commences: If you cancel a service engagement before KulRakshak has begun any work on your case (i.e., no research, documentation, or outreach has been initiated), you are entitled to a full refund of the engagement fee, minus any applicable payment processing charges
- After Initial Consultation / Assessment: If cancellation occurs after an initial consultation or assessment has been completed but before substantive work has begun, KulRakshak may retain up to twenty percent (20%) of the engagement fee to cover the consultation and assessment costs. The remaining amount will be refunded
- After Substantive Work Has Begun: If cancellation occurs after KulRakshak has commenced substantive work (e.g., document preparation, institution outreach, research, or filing), the refund will be calculated on a prorated basis based on the percentage of work completed at the time of cancellation. KulRakshak will provide a written summary of work completed and the corresponding fee adjustment
- After Completion or Submission: If the service engagement has been substantially completed — for example, a claim has been filed, documents have been submitted, or recovery proceedings have been initiated — no refund will be applicable, regardless of the outcome. Service fees cover the effort and process, not guaranteed results
⚠️ Important Notes for Service Engagements:
- KulRakshak will make reasonable efforts to inform you of the stage of work before processing a cancellation, so you can make an informed decision
- If you have a separate service agreement or engagement letter, the cancellation and refund terms specified in that agreement will take precedence over this general Policy
- Third-party costs incurred by KulRakshak on your behalf (e.g., government filing fees, stamp duties, courier charges, legal fees) are non-refundable regardless of when you cancel
- Work products generated up to the point of cancellation (e.g., reports, drafted documents, research summaries) will be provided to you upon request
5) Cooling-Off Period
KulRakshak offers a seven (7) day cooling-off period for first-time subscribers, giving you the opportunity to evaluate the platform and decide if it meets your needs before fully committing.
Cooling-Off Eligibility
- Available only to first-time subscribers — users who have never previously held a paid KulRakshak subscription
- Applies to the first subscription purchase only, regardless of plan tier or billing cycle
- The seven (7) day period begins on the date of subscription activation (not the date of account creation)
- Must be exercised within the 7-day window — requests received after the period expires will be treated under standard cancellation terms
Cooling-Off Conditions
- You must not have extensively used the Services during the cooling-off period. Extensive use includes uploading more than ten (10) documents to the Digital Vault, initiating a service request (claim, recovery, consultation), or adding more than three (3) nominees
- If you have extensively used the Services, the cooling-off refund may be reduced proportionally or denied at KulRakshak's discretion
- The cooling-off period does not apply to one-time service engagements, add-on purchases, or promotional/discounted subscriptions (unless explicitly stated in the offer terms)
To exercise the cooling-off period, contact us at info@kulrakshak.com with the subject "Cooling-Off Refund Request" within seven (7) days of activation. Include your registered name, email, subscription plan, and activation date. Upon approval, a full refund will be processed within seven (7) to fourteen (14) business days.
6) Refund Eligibility & Terms
KulRakshak is committed to fair, transparent, and prompt refund processing. The following table summarizes the refund eligibility for different scenarios:
✅ Situations Where Refunds ARE Applicable:
- Cooling-Off Period (First-Time Subscribers): Full refund within 7 days of initial activation, subject to usage conditions outlined in Section 5
- Duplicate Charges: If you are charged more than once for the same billing cycle due to a payment processing error, the duplicate amount will be refunded in full upon verification. No action required from you — we proactively monitor for duplicates, but please report any you notice
- Incorrect Charges / Overcharges: If you are charged an incorrect amount due to a pricing display error, system glitch, or miscalculation, the excess amount will be refunded upon verification
- Unauthorized Charges: If a charge was made to your payment method without your authorization (and not due to shared or compromised credentials on your end), the unauthorized amount will be refunded upon investigation and verification
- Service Outage (Extended): If KulRakshak fails to provide access to the subscribed Services for a continuous period of more than seventy-two (72) hours due to reasons within our control (excluding scheduled maintenance, force majeure, or third-party issues), you may be eligible for a prorated credit or refund for the affected period
- Involuntary Plan Upgrade: If you are inadvertently upgraded to a higher-tier plan without your consent due to a system error, the additional charges will be reversed and your plan will be restored to the original tier
- Service Engagement — Before Work Begins: Full refund (minus payment processing charges) if a one-time service engagement is cancelled before any work has commenced
- Service Engagement — Partial Completion: Prorated refund based on the percentage of work completed at the time of cancellation
🚫 Situations Where Refunds Are NOT Applicable:
- Standard Subscription Cancellation: Cancellation of a subscription after the cooling-off period — you retain access until the end of the paid period, but no refund is issued for the remaining term
- Voluntary Downgrade: The price difference between the current and lower-tier plan is not refundable upon downgrade
- Non-Use: Failure to use the Services during an active subscription period does not entitle you to a refund
- Policy Violation / Termination by KulRakshak: If your account is suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions, no refund will be issued
- Force Majeure: Service disruptions caused by events beyond KulRakshak's reasonable control (natural disasters, cyberattacks, government actions, internet outages, pandemics, etc.)
- Third-Party Failures: Disruptions caused by payment processors, banks, cloud providers, or other third parties that are outside KulRakshak's direct control
- Add-On Purchases: One-time add-on service purchases are generally non-refundable once the service has been initiated
- Completed Service Engagements: No refund after a one-time service engagement has been substantially completed or delivered
- Third-Party Costs: Government filing fees, stamp duties, courier charges, and other third-party costs incurred on your behalf are non-refundable
- Promotional / Discounted Plans: Subscriptions purchased at promotional or discounted rates may have modified or restricted refund terms as specified in the offer
7) How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund under this Policy, please follow the process below:
📝 Refund Request Process:
- Submit Your Request: Email info@kulrakshak.com with the subject line "Refund Request – [Your Registered Name]." Include your registered name and email, subscription plan and billing cycle, payment date and amount, transaction ID or payment reference number (from your bank statement or payment receipt), and a clear description of the reason for your refund request with any supporting evidence (screenshots, bank statements, etc.)
- Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge your refund request within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt and provide you with a reference number for tracking
- Review & Verification: Our billing team will review your request, verify the payment records, and investigate the circumstances. This may involve coordination with our payment processing partners. We may contact you for additional information if needed
- Decision: We will communicate our decision within ten (10) business days of receiving your complete request. You will receive a written response via email explaining whether the refund is approved, partially approved, or denied, along with the reasoning
- Processing: Approved refunds will be processed within seven (7) to fourteen (14) business days from the date of approval. The refund will be credited to the original payment method used for the transaction
- Confirmation: You will receive a refund confirmation email once the refund has been initiated, including the refund amount, reference number, and expected crediting timeline
⏱️ Refund Processing Timelines:
- UPI / Net Banking: 5–7 business days from the date of refund initiation
- Credit Card: 7–10 business days (may take up to one billing cycle to reflect on your statement)
- Debit Card: 5–10 business days
- Wallets: 3–5 business days
- Bank Transfer: 7–14 business days
Please note that the actual crediting time depends on your bank or payment provider and may vary. KulRakshak is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors or banking institutions. If your refund does not appear within the expected timeframe, we recommend contacting your bank first, and then reaching out to us for a status update.
8) What Happens to Your Data After Cancellation
We understand that your data — especially the documents, records, and nominee configurations stored in the Digital Vault — is critically important. Here's exactly what happens when you cancel:
📦 Post-Cancellation Data Timeline:
- Cancellation Confirmed (Day 0): Your cancellation is processed and confirmed. Auto-renewal is disabled. You retain full access to all features and data until the end of your current paid billing period
- Data Export Reminder (7 Days Before Access Ends): We send you a reminder email prompting you to export and download all documents, records, and data from your Digital Vault before your access ends. The email includes step-by-step instructions for data export
- Access Ends (End of Billing Period): Your subscription expires. Access to premium features, the Digital Vault, nominee management tools, and other subscription features is suspended. Your account transitions to an inactive state
- Data Retention Window (60 Days After Access Ends): Your data is retained in a secure, encrypted state for sixty (60) days following the end of your subscription. During this window, you can reactivate your subscription and regain full access to all your stored data
- Final Export Opportunity (Day 45–60): We send a final reminder at the 45-day mark, informing you that your data will be permanently deleted in 15 days. If you wish to retrieve your data without reactivating, contact us to request a one-time data export
- Permanent Deletion (Day 60): If you have not reactivated or requested a data export, all your personal data, documents, vault contents, and account information will be permanently and irrecoverably deleted from our systems
What Gets Deleted
- All documents and files stored in the Digital Vault
- Nominee configurations and access permissions
- Account profile and personal information
- Service engagement records and consultation notes
- Communication history and support tickets
- Uploaded identity documents and verification records
What May Be Retained
- Transaction and payment records — retained for eight (8) years for tax and regulatory compliance
- Anonymized and aggregated usage data — retained for analytical purposes (cannot be traced back to you)
- Data subject to legal hold, active litigation, or regulatory investigation — retained until the matter is resolved
- Records required by law to be maintained (e.g., under the Income Tax Act, GST regulations)
You may request immediate deletion of your data at the time of cancellation if you do not wish to retain the 60-day recovery window. To do so, include the statement "Request Immediate Data Deletion" in your cancellation request. Immediate deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone.
9) Reactivation After Cancellation
Changed your mind? We make it easy to come back. KulRakshak allows you to reactivate your subscription at any time, with the following terms:
Within the 60-Day Retention Window
- Log in to your account and select a subscription plan
- Complete the payment for the new subscription period
- All your data, documents, and configurations will be fully restored — exactly as you left them
- A new billing cycle begins from the reactivation date
- Your previous plan tier is not guaranteed — you may select any available plan at current pricing
After the 60-Day Retention Window
- Your previous data has been permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
- You may create a new account and subscribe to a fresh plan
- You will start with an empty Digital Vault and will need to re-upload all documents
- Previous nominee configurations, service history, and preferences will not be available
- Any promotional or grandfathered pricing from your previous subscription will not carry over
If you are considering cancellation but may want to return in the future, we recommend exporting your data before cancellation — even if you plan to reactivate within 60 days. This ensures you always have a personal backup of your important records.
10) Cancellation by KulRakshak
While we always prefer to work with our users to resolve issues, KulRakshak reserves the right to cancel or terminate your subscription under the following circumstances:
🚫 Grounds for Cancellation by KulRakshak:
- Repeated Payment Failures: If all payment retry attempts fail during the grace period (as described in the Subscription Policy) and you do not update your payment information within the specified timeframe
- Terms Violation: Breach of any material provision of the Terms and Conditions, Subscription Policy, Privacy Policy, or this Cancellation Policy
- Fraudulent Activity: Submission of fraudulent, forged, or materially misleading documents or information
- Illegal Use: Using the Services for any illegal, unethical, or harmful purpose
- Abuse of Platform: Actions that disrupt the platform's operation, compromise security, or negatively impact other users
- Multiple Account Abuse: Creating multiple accounts to exploit free trials, promotions, or referral programs
- Legal or Regulatory Requirement: If required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or government directive
- Service Discontinuation: If KulRakshak discontinues a specific service or plan tier. In this case, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice and offer migration to an alternative plan or a prorated refund
📋 Your Rights When KulRakshak Cancels:
- Payment Failure: No refund applicable. You may reactivate by completing the outstanding payment within the 60-day retention window
- Terms Violation / Fraud / Abuse: No refund applicable for the remaining subscription period. Data handling follows our standard retention and deletion policy
- Service Discontinuation: You will receive at least thirty (30) days' notice, the option to migrate to an equivalent or alternative plan, and a prorated refund for any unused prepaid period if no suitable alternative is available
- Legal Requirement: Handled on a case-by-case basis in compliance with applicable law. Refund eligibility will depend on the specific circumstances
- In all cases, you will have the opportunity to export your data before your access is terminated (unless prohibited by law or if doing so would compromise an ongoing investigation)
Where possible, KulRakshak will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue before proceeding with cancellation. However, in cases involving fraud, serious security threats, or legal requirements, we may take immediate action without prior notice.
11) Effect of Cancellation on Ongoing Services
If you have active service engagements (such as asset recovery cases, claim filings, or ongoing consultations) at the time of subscription cancellation, the following applies:
Subscription-Included Services
- Features and tools included as part of your subscription plan (Digital Vault, nominee management, reminders, etc.) will cease to be available at the end of the current billing period
- Automated services such as renewal reminders, maturity alerts, and nominee prompts will stop
- Priority support access, if included in your plan, will revert to standard support
Separately Engaged Services
- One-time service engagements (asset recovery, claim assistance, etc.) that were purchased separately and are currently in progress will continue to completion regardless of subscription status
- These engagements are governed by their own service agreements and are not affected by subscription cancellation
- If the service engagement requires access to your Digital Vault (e.g., document retrieval), KulRakshak may retain limited access to complete the engagement

12) Cancellation During Free Trial
If you are on a free trial and wish to cancel before the trial converts to a paid subscription:
🆓 Free Trial Cancellation Terms:
- You may cancel at any time during the free trial with no charge
- Cancel before the trial end date to avoid being charged for the first paid billing cycle
- We will send a reminder email at least three (3) days before the trial ends, informing you of the upcoming charge and how to cancel if you choose
- If you cancel during the trial, you retain access to the platform until the trial end date
- Data uploaded during the trial will be handled according to the same retention and deletion timeline as regular cancellations (60-day retention window after access ends)
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged and standard cancellation terms will apply going forward
13) Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
We encourage you to contact KulRakshak directly before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. In most cases, we can resolve the issue faster and more favorably through direct communication.
Before Filing a Chargeback
- Contact us at info@kulrakshak.com or +91 9990184509 to discuss the charge in question
- Provide your transaction details and the reason for the dispute
- Our billing team will investigate and resolve the matter within ten (10) business days
- If the charge was an error, we will process a refund directly — this is typically faster than a bank chargeback
If a Chargeback Is Filed
- KulRakshak reserves the right to suspend your account pending the resolution of the chargeback dispute
- We will provide all relevant documentation and evidence to the payment processor or card network
- If the chargeback is resolved in KulRakshak's favor, the suspended amount will be re-charged and your account will be restored
- Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in permanent account termination
Filing a chargeback without first contacting KulRakshak may delay the resolution process and may result in temporary loss of access to your account and services.
14) Special Circumstances
KulRakshak recognizes that life can present unexpected situations. In the following special circumstances, we may offer additional flexibility beyond our standard cancellation and refund terms:
🤝 Compassionate Consideration:
- Bereavement: In the event of the death of the account holder, the legal heir or authorized nominee may request cancellation and data export. KulRakshak will waive any remaining subscription obligations and assist with the transition of records to the designated heir or nominee. A death certificate or other legal documentation may be required
- Serious Illness or Incapacity: If the account holder is unable to manage their account due to a serious medical condition or incapacity, a designated family member or legal representative may request cancellation, data export, or account transfer on their behalf. Medical documentation or a power of attorney may be required
- Financial Hardship: If you are experiencing genuine financial hardship, contact us to discuss your situation. KulRakshak may, at its discretion, offer a temporary plan downgrade, payment deferral, or modified terms to help you maintain essential access to your records
- Natural Disaster / Emergency: If you are affected by a natural disaster or declared emergency that impacts your ability to manage your subscription, KulRakshak may extend billing grace periods, waive late fees, or offer temporary account preservation at no charge

15) Cancellation Feedback
When you cancel your subscription, we may ask you to share the reason for your decision. This feedback is entirely optional and is used solely to improve our Services.
Why We Ask
- To identify and fix issues with our platform or Services
- To understand if pricing, features, or support need improvement
- To ensure no unresolved issue is driving your decision to leave
- To continuously improve the experience for all KulRakshak users
Your Feedback Rights
- Providing feedback is completely voluntary — it will never delay or affect your cancellation

- Feedback will be anonymized and used only for internal analysis
- You will never be contacted for marketing purposes based on your cancellation feedback

16) Dispute Resolution

- Legal Remedies: If the matter remains unresolved, you may pursue remedies under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or through arbitration as specified in our Terms and Conditions (seat: Gurugram, Haryana)
17) Changes to This Policy
KulRakshak reserves the right to modify, amend, or replace this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time at its sole discretion. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
For material changes that significantly affect your cancellation or refund rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify existing subscribers at least fifteen (15) days before the changes take effect through email, in-app notification, or a prominent notice on the Website.
Your continued use of the Website or Services after the updated Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you may cancel your subscription under the terms of the Policy in effect at the time of your cancellation.
